One interesting thing Bill did on stage was he often rallied against kids. Bill rarely seemed like a playful child in his art, as many artists seem to be. Did he really hate kids as much as he said? If so, why?
That's funny. I've got my wife asking me this because she thought the same thing. As usual, all jokes turn in on themselves. Yeah, and that's something I have had to deal to deal with too. I hear people, "Oh well, Kevin hates kids. Oh, you've heard those Bill Hicks CD's". Because I produced Rant In E-Minor, its automatically assumed I'm a child hater myself.

No, Bill did not hate children. Anybody who thinks that, just from hearing his albums, obviously, well, I'm not going to say they are stupid, I'm not going to say they are dumb, dumber than mud, but they just did not take it all in. Bill often talked about unwanted children and of people having them. But the bigger picture here is that the people having the unwanted children are unwanted children themselves and it's just like an evil, horrible recycling thing, fueling the trailer park scene and spawning shows like COPS, Police Most Deadly Chases and all of these other shows.
Bill did love W.C. Fields and he really like the "get away kid, you bug me", kind of thing. He used to love showing me his favorite W.C. Field's movie, the one where he was always just super mean to kids. It's kind of like maybe even going back to his dad. I mean, Bill's parents would be so hard on Bill and then,
turn around and buy him a car.

Bill was so good to his niece and nephew, Rachel and Ryan, his brother Steve's kids. I know he loved them so much and cherished his time with them. Believe it or not he even had one fantasy that if he wasn't going to die he was going to have kids when he was around 43. He probably would have made a great father. Maybe you could say, it's almost like a Pete Townsend dating around today and then you get Kurt Cobain coming around saying, "I hope I die before I become Pete Townsend."
