What have you been up to? I've been working on my one man show, "an evening with Macauley Culkin. I heard it had an unhappy ending? I heard you once mention that you are a big Buster Keaton fan. In what ways has he influenced your work? He taught me never to smile, which helps me when
I visit disaster sites. I believe you started comedy back in 1976 even before Steven Wright, what made you get into it, and obviously who were your influences? I went into comedy to get others to stop laughing at me. My influences were Moms Mabley, Slappy White, and the third quarter of the lunar phase. (seriously.) It seems that England appreciates your humor a lot more than America. You, Bill Hicks, Monty Python... why do you think the British have a lot hipper sense of humor than Americans. Or actually let me rephrase that, why is the comedy in America not as hip as in almost all other civilized countries? Because we allow handguns. when you know someone in the crowd might be packing a rod, it can't help but rush your timing. What projects are you currently working on? Cabrini Green, Chicago. That is rather an obscure reference, do you think anyone outside of Illinois will get it? You're right...please change it to The Edward
Taylor Homes. I wouldn't go so far to say it is an urban legend, but once i did drive off with Judy's hand stuck to my car door handle. |
